GK COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
COORDINATOR SUPPORT

Gawad Kalinga assigns Community Development Coordinators (CDCs) to poor communities to be their partners and mentors in their journey out of poverty. The CDCs check on the communities on a monthly basis, roll out trainings and facilitate implementation of the different programs under GK’s Platforms of Solidarity. They also build relationships with local government units and volunteers to strengthen the community's support system. The CDCs become the main touch point between the community and the partners that want to help.

Each CDC undergoes specialized training on leadership and project management to ensure they become powerful and successful enablers for the poor communities they take care of.

full-time work. One CDC is assigned to at least 10 communities
within their area.
