GK for Kids

Living out the GK way of caring and sharing starts with the young, and small children can play a big part in nation-building!

•    Share your birthday with a GK kid : Many of the children in our GK communities have never experienced having a birthday party, or have not even blown a birthday cake! Make your birthday extra meaningful by spending it in a GK community.  You can share the joy with the birthday celebrants of the month in that community and blow the cake with all of them!

•    Tell your parents and your parents' friends about Gawad Kalinga : Many of our partners heard about Gawad Kalinga from their children (yes, this is true!) because they have been involved in GK through their schools.  Grade school students have brought their parents to GK builds, influenced them and their friends to contribute and sometimes even build a village!

•    Share your school materials : Although there is a public school system that GK kids can go to, they still encounter the difficulty of completing school requirements because they lack the basic school supplies.  Kids can initiate a school supplies drive with their friends to help gather school materials and send them to GK kids in need.

•    Join a Build : Batang Bayanis (Young heroes) can also participate in a GK build with their friends and families!  This is a great way to teach kids about helping others, and is a heartwarming bonding activity with other friends and their parents.
