The talents and gifts of the youth are wasted on poverty. Children growing up in slum communities are deprived of opportunities to fulfill their full potentials, and often turn to vices and violence to survive.  GK believes every child is a gift from God and our hope for the future, and the program seeks to care for poor children and help them to grow and develop to the best that they can be. Our Child and Youth Development program facilitates and supports the growth and development of the younger generation of GK residents. Starting with early-childhood education for the kids and creative workshops for the youth, GK equips them with the right tools and good values to help them build a bright future for their families and become productive members of society. Let us build a better world by taking care of the children of the poor. If you also believe that the future belongs to the young ones, help us help them become the best that they can be. Whether by teaching them the basics or supplying for their needs, you can help transform children's lives by supporting our activities.  Help us plant the seeds of hope today.

Jan 29, 2010  -  CYD GK Siga Members Go to Australia
“No, this is not a joke.” As difficult to believe as it sounds, but going to Australia, going on a tour there for two weeks, and returning home with a lot of pasalubong without spending a single centavo was not a joke.  It may sound impossible to the non-believers but for four youths of Gawad Kalinga, the impossible just happened. Karmela Anne Castillo of GK Licad in Payatas, Quezon City; Dennis Ortiz of GK FILCCA in Brgy. Culiat, Quezon City; and Daves Pregonero of GK Bagong Silang... Read More
