Proof of Hope

“Glimpse of Hope” is the name given to the village to give inspiration among its beneficiaries as it aims to restore hope for families affected by Typhoon Yolanda in Brgy. Quezon Jr., Ormoc City. Last July 14, 40 families were awarded their houses. During the turnover, Team GK together with our partners sees no longer a glimpse of hope but a community with restored dignity and happiness. People from the village are filled with delight and enthusiasm.

A total of 40 families moved in to their new homes and received their ceremonial keys which symbolize hope, the ability to dream and the capacity to start again after every trial and disaster. Glimpse of Hope GK Community expresses their gratitude to Gawad Kalinga thru its partners: Mr. & Mrs. Jimmy and Cynthia Yim and their friends from Singapore who supported the generous effort for the survivors of Typhoon Yolanda.

"The time of Yolanda was a time of darkness, so we thought of naming this village, Glimpse of Hope. But today we see no longer a glimpse but proof of hope. Thank you for the inspiration!" - Atty. Jimmy Yim
