How We Do It

The GKBI is a network of academic institutions committed to the work of nation-building through Gawad Kalinga.  It is composed of GK school partners who are committed to conducting research, development, & capacity building for GK. The GKBI is the caretaker of the body of knowledge gained from the GK experience.

The GKBI, through a national secretariat, engages select GK school partners to establish and maintain Centers for Nation Building which ensures that the GK Way is integrated in the academic and non-academic program of the school for its students, faculty, administration, staff, and alumni.  These centers are responsible for the following program and initiatives:

  1. Facilitate academic studies on GK through the GK Global Research & Internship Program (GK GRIP). This program provides local and foreign students the opportunity to learn about poverty eradication the GK way.
  2. Develop and publish official GK reference and resource materials.
  3. Develop, pilot and mainstream new templates and models for the continued development of the GK model.
  4. Implement the GK Capacity Building Program.
